How we support our community
Hearts of Comfort provides age-appropriate kits for children and youth experiencing foster, kinship, family, or other major transitions, In a scary time, we believe children need to feel some comfort and that they have something that belongs to them. Almost all children in this type of situation are going into it with nothing that truly belongs to them. FHT intends on changing that.
Little Hearts (0-5)
Thoughtfully assembled comfort kits for newborns and toddlers featuring handmade blankets, warm clothing, essential hygiene items, cozy comfort toys, and age-appropriate storybooks.
Growing Hearts (6-11)
Care packages including cozy handmade blankets, new clothing, hygiene supplies, journals, books, and a disposable camera with a photo album to capture positive moments.
Big Hearts (12-18)
Tailored essentials for youth including personal care items, clothing vouchers, a journal, inspiring reads, a warm blanket, and disposable cameras to find the good in challenging days.
About Family Hearts Together
Based in Junction City, Oregon, Family Hearts Together is a developing community-based nonprofit organization created to support children, caregivers, and families experiencing foster, kinship, family, housing, and other destabilizing transitions. The organization is being built around a simple principle: families should not have to navigate difficult moments alone.
Family Hearts Together exists to create a dependable local landing place for families who need both practical support and meaningful connection during times of transition, instability and crisis.
Finding the good in the bad
Housing transition brings immense stress, especially for children and teens. By including disposable cameras and keepsake photo albums in our older kits, we encourage kids to look for bright moments, document their personal strength, and hold onto memories that matter.
